With just a few simple clicks, it will help you transfer all songs/videos from iPod to your selected folder on your new laptop, and then you can easily add those files back to the new iTunes.
More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song titles are preserved.
Here is the step-by-step guide on the whole process:
Connect the iPod to your laptop and make sure you don't sync with iTunes. Go into the summary tab and look at the options section. You will see a check box labeled "enable disk use". Make sure it is checked. Open "My Computer" and you will see the iPod listed as a removable drive. Open the drive and enter the tools menu. Select folder options then click the advanced tab. You will see a section called "hidden files and folders". Click the show radio button. You are looking for the iPod_control folder. Enter that folder and repeat the process for making folders visible. Open the music folder. All your tracks will be there. Click and drag all the tracks to a folder of your choosing and then import them into iTunes.
